Seller News August 2011

Increased stability for eBay Top-rated sellers

From 20 October, we’ll be introducing greater stability for eBay Top-rated sellers. Sellers will have a grace period to bring their performance back up to eBay Top-rated seller standard without losing their status and benefits if they fall to Above Standard.

eBay Top-rated sellers who have maintained their status for 3 consecutive months before evaluation and who fall to Above Standard status will qualify for the grace period. This will help to reduce the disruption and uncertainty caused by a one-off low rating, allowing sellers to focus on running their business.

Increased stability for eBay Top-rated sellers

eBay Top-rated sellers tell us that the temporary loss of their status due to unforeseen issues makes it difficult for them to plan their business. In response, we’re giving a grace period to create a more predictable and stable business environment.

Eligibility

To qualify for the increased stability of a grace period, eBay Top-rated sellers must:

Grace periods

If your seller performance is based on transactions over the past 3 months, you will receive up to 2 months grace period. If it’s based on transactions over the past 12 months, you will receive up to 4 months. If you are evaluated as below Above Standard during your grace period, the grace period will end immediately.

Sellers who don’t meet the requirements for eBay Top-rated seller status after the grace period has expired, will lose their eBay Top-rated seller status and benefits.

Check your Seller Dashboard

Your Seller Dashboard will show whether you’re eligible for the eBay Top-rated seller grace period. It will also tell you if you’re in a grace period, when it started and when it may expire. You will also receive an email notification with these details.
