Which option is best for me?
1. Basic international sellingThis is the quickest and easiest way to get started. There’s minimal effort and no additional cost involved – all you need to do is provide international postage details on your domestic listings to get some visibility on international sites.
2. Advanced international selling
Advanced international selling enables you to tailor your listings to the local market (e.g. set prices in the local currency or list in the local language) by listing directly on to an international site. You can list on international sites from your existing eBay account, but you’ll be charged insertion fees for each item you list.
From November, sellers will be able to create and manage listings on all European and Australian sites from their existing eBay.co.uk account for a single monthly subscription.
New features launching for basic international selling
New – postage costs per country
From September, you can set postage costs and services per country when specifying international postage services in your listings on eBay.co.uk. This is helpful if you want to offer different services or costs for posting your item to different countries. (For example, £2.00 to Austria, £3.00 to Belarus and £4.00 to Belgium.)

International postage rate tables enable you to provide:
- Item-based postage costs.
- Weight-based postage costs, e.g. £2.00 per kg for postage to Italy.
- Surcharge for specific countries, e.g. specify a standard worldwide postage cost and then add £2.00 for postage to Italy and add £5.00 for postage to Poland.
New tool to translate your listings on eBay.com for international buyers from countries without an eBay marketplace
Many buyers in countries without an eBay marketplace, such as Russia and Brazil, shop on eBay.com. Later this year, these international eBay.com buyers will see even more listings. They'll see items that sellers have listed on eBay.com as well as eBay.co.uk, eBay.ca, or eBay.com.au.
You can continue to list on eBay.com as usual, specifying the postage costs and service to the countries you’ll dispatch to.
We're also gradually introducing an on-demand translation tool. When your listing is shown on eBay.com to buyers from countries without an eBay marketplace, they'll be able to request a translation of your item title and description.
The on-demand translation tool is currently available for users in the following languages and countries*:
- Spanish: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru
- Russian: Russian Federation, Ukraine
- Portuguese: Brazil, Portugal
- Indonesian: Indonesia
* As of December 2012
New features launching for advanced international selling

- $0.03 insertion fee for 30-day and Good ‘Til Cancelled fixed price listings on eBay.com.

More improvements to advanced international selling in 2013
From early 2013, we’re planning to make it even easier for you to list internationally. We’re developing new features to enable you to easily replicate your domestic listings on international sites. For example, we’ll suggest a translation of your item title and descriptions and the equivalent international category to list in. We’ll also help you create rules to assist with pricing your items for international buyers.
