Overview
Improved functionality in bulk listing, relisting and sell similar flows
From mid-June 2010, a small number of sellers will be able to opt in to the beta version of bulk edit and relisting in My eBay and Selling Manager in order to test new functionality. The opt-in link to test this new functionality will be available to all sellers in July. The new bulk functionality will include making revisions to multiple listing fields such as item condition, price and quantity – and publish them, all at once. Later this year, more fields for editing in the new bulk functionality will be enabled.

  • Review any errors, warnings and fee recalculations that may be generated whenever a field is modified.
  • Edit in multiple fields for multiple listings before publishing.
  • Modify listings and save changes without publishing them until sellers are ready.
  • Preview how modified listings will look on the item page even before changes are published.

How can sellers opt in?

  1. See bulk edit tips and tools on how to access the existing bulk flows.
  2. When the beta version is available, an opt in link will show whenever sellers are in the existing bulk flows.
  3. Once sellers have opted in, an opt out link will become visible and sellers will be able to leave the test whenever they choose.

Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro

1. How do I access the Advanced Search functionality?

To access this feature, sellers must subscribe to Selling Manager (free subscription) or Selling Manager Pro (monthly subscription). Once subscribed:

  1. Go to the My eBay Activity tab.
  2. Click Active under Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro section in the left navigation bar
  3. Click Advanced Search on the search bar

2. Can Advanced Search be used on listings that have ended?

Advanced Search is available for active listings only. However, both Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro have existing search functionality that allows you to search against listings that have ended.

3. When can the Advanced Search functionality be used?

The Advanced Search functionality can be used when sellers need to identify active listings that do not comply with a requirement, such as updating item condition using the new values, or identifying a subset of Good ‘Til Cancelled listings to send to auction.

4. What are some of the search fields I can use in Advanced Search?

The Advanced Search functionality offers a great deal of flexibility. Any of the following fields may be used in a search query: Title, Category, Condition, Catalogue Product, eBay Site, Description, Format, Starting Price, Current Price, Bid count, Reserve Price, Buy It Now Price, Best Offer, Duration, Quantity, Payment Method, Free Shipping, Handling Time, Get it Fast, Item Location Zip Code, Return Policy, and Time Left.

5. What fields can sellers edit with the beta version?

The price, quantity, title and subtitle fields will be available immediately. In addition, the item condition field will also be accessible enabling sellers to update their listings with the new item condition values.

Please note that as this is a test, not all fields are available to edit in the beta version. As such, sellers may choose to opt in and opt out of the test, as required, in order to access the relevant fields for editing.

6. How do I edit item condition using this new functionality?

There are 2 ways to edit the item condition field:

  1. Edit listings one at a time within the grid
    • Scroll down your list of active listings, and find the listing you want to edit.
    • Click into the cell in the item condition column.
    • Enter the appropriate value
    • Click Submit All or Continue to edit the next item.
  2. Select multiple listings
    • Click Edit, and choose Condition.
    • At this point, you can edit one listing at a time or edit all of the selected listings in bulk.

7. Is the new bulk functionality available via Turbo Lister, Blackthorne or other third-party applications?

No, the new bulk functionality is limited to onsite use only.
